Overview

This page is less about a direct line to my current work and more about how I became a researcher in the first place.

My early experience in marine biology helped build the habits that still shape my work: careful observation, comfort with unfamiliar systems, respect for data quality, and curiosity-driven problem solving. Even though I ultimately moved toward neuroscience and machine learning, this kind of field and biology work mattered because it trained the same underlying research instincts.

Why it matters

I like including this project because it shows range. My path was not perfectly linear, and I think that is a strength. I have always been drawn to complex systems, challenging environments, and questions that require both patience and experimentation.
